Questionaire my answers.

I'm 42, female and still in my prime. I am taking Eng Literature with creative & professional writing. Don't know why I'm doing writing as well, cos I'v realised, I'm not all that good. Hell, sometimetimes we just gotta do something thaat we like ain't we, as Calamity Jane would likely say.. It does relate to other topics, but in a lot of ways I have found it a lot easier. I have spent most of my life perfecting the art of being bad, so I reckoned that this would be a n easy and interesting module to pass. Anyway, the list of topics was fine, I would have liked to have seen a lecture on sexual deviancy though. I wouuld recommend this module to anyone without a faint heart. Small group disccussions could have been embarassing, considering the subject matter, not everyone gives a fuck less than me. Over and out, got to go and meet my boyfriend. Too many questions, I have read Stalin and 'Mein Kamp'. One last thing though, it has made me realise that I have been living a lie, Oscar Wilde put it like this, " I hope you have not been leading a double life, pretending to be wicked and being good all the time. " Wilde. The Importance of being Earnest.

Under age sex.

Most young people have had under-age sex. It seems really bad to me, when the kid is well below the legal age of consent. I did it at 15 and I think that the age seems to be lowering over the years. Even at 15, I fell that I was too young. When I hear of 10 year olds doing it , I must admit, I feel really sorry for those kids. I have got a 7 year old daughter, and I would be mortified if she had sex in a mere 3 years or so. I don't know why they even want to do it that young, I had only just discovered wanking at 15, for christ's sake. I suppose that it must be peer pressure. It is such a shame, there is never such a lovely, innocent and relaxed time as in childhood, and these children are throwing all of that away, by having sex so young. They are depriving themselves of that time.

The evils of racism.

I am totally against racism. We live in a society which is supposed to be caring. This city is particularly multi cultural and I think that it is a great place to live as a result of this mix of people. Amoung the animals, we are meant to be the 'great thinker's'. Why then do we have some people who hate other's just because they are different, or have a different skin colour? I have never thought that certain races of people are all the same. There is good and bad in all races. In the caucasians, the bad people are the racists, who hate certain ethnic groups, generally for no reason, except their being different. This is food for thought; if we think that we humans are superiorto all of the other animals in the world, why is it then, that you never see a say white horse, or black horse horse picking on another horse just because it is brown. If a racist party, such as the BNP ever got into office in this country, I think that I would move abroad again.

Abortion

Black Uhuru, the reggae band once wrote a song entitled, "Abortion, abortion, you got to have caution". I couldn't agree more. Abortion can be a very upsetting and painful experience. I have never had to have one, thankfully. I think that abortion is bad. I wish that people would take contraception, so that it dosen't have to be done. There is plenty of contraception available today, totally free of charge, so I don't really think that is much excuse not to be taking it, if you are having sexual relations. I believe that life is very preciuos. Also, I know a lot of women who cannot have children and I feel sorry for them. I once had a friend, who was older enough to know better, who was just too lazy to get off her butt and go and get contraception off her doctor. Consequently, she kept having abortions to get rid of the unwanted child. I am no longer friends with her, I didn't admire her stupid attitude regarding this and thought that she was a complete idiot. If someone has been raped, of course they may well want an abortion, but they can also consider giving the baby up for adoption as well. There are plenty of childless people out there. Abortion can affect people for life. I have a freind, who regrets having her's many years ago and it still pains her now. I am not totally against abortions, but would rather women wouldn't rush off to have one, without real considerations of alternative options.

lying

Everybody lies a bit, especially on their cv. We all have discrepancies in our working life. It is pretty much normal to lie as well, i f a woman asks,' does my bum look big in this' ?. Men, if they have any sense of decency and don't want to get a premenstrual 'beating', will invariably answer 'no dear, you look lovely'; if they have any sense, thaat is. I have met some who have been extremely tactless and rude, in the past. They did'nt last very long. One even had the audacity to say that my fanny was too big these days and that was only because he had fucked me when I was a virgin and we fucked again several years later. Of course it felt bigger than it had before. I thought at the time, bollocks to you, maybe it 's because your dick isn't big enough; but still, it has still given me a complex, a bit for the rest of my life. No one else has ever complained, however. This is one of the reasons why I believe that it sometimes alright to tell a little white lie, you can save peoples feelings. Lying on a large scale though is not something that I would say do. Sir Walter Scott once said, " Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we first deceive". (The Times, 3rd may 2007, 4). I couldn't agree more with this quote. I tangled myself into a massive web 15 years ago, This is the story, I hope it is a useful warning to make people think twice before they lie. I had a boyfriend, he was a lovely chap, but I had realise that we were not 'meant to be'. We argued all the time fora start. Anyway, I tried to dump him several times, but every time that I tried, he would start to cry, and I would feel bad and take him back. So, for this reason, I hatched what I thought was a cunning plot. I said that I was at a time in my life when I wanted to fulfill a life-long dream. This was to go to Thailand for a month or two. I bought a 'Rogh guide to Thailand ' book, I pretended to go and get all of the necessary injections and I gave up my job. He was so nice that he said, " I don't mind if you do it, I don't want you to miss out on your dreams just for me"He even said that he would 'wait for me to return'. I never even went. I just changed fuckin jobs and moved. I got caught out and embarrassed, serves me right really. Some friend of his bumped into me after about a month, then I saw other people who knew me, and all they said was "How was Thailand?", and this idiot here had to make it all up. I'm not sure whether everyone was convinced by my bullshit, but the poor guy was, bless him. I should have had the guts to be honest and stick to my decisions, it has proved how stupid and weak that I can be. Don't think that lying is always an easy way out of difficult things, it is't.

Euthanasia.

I would be happy if somebody would put me out of my misery sometimes. I believe that euthanasis can be the kindest thing to do for someone that you care about, under certain circumstances. If a person is very ill, in a lot of pain or that their quality of life is vitually nil; I would say the it is the best thing to do for them. Sometimes people actually request to be killed, rather than carrying on living, even so, it is still illegal in a lot of countries. I do not see why it should remain illegal. If a person has not requested to die then it is a more tricky issue. Even under those circumstances however, I still think that there are times when it is still for the best of the person involved. They may be in such a vegetative state, or too ill to request it. Some might say that it could be a very good way of someone getting away with murder, but even so, I think that ti should be legalised and I think that it should be regulated. If sometimes a mistake may be made, if it is legalised, who can argue that it is any worse than when the death penalty was in force in this country and then sometimes mistakes were made. It is'nt any worse than that, I don't think.

My Response to Dave's Post:

Dave's Post:

Stalking
I've got this friend. Well, I used to have this friend: I'm not sure what she is now. I expressed a romantic (for want of a better word) interest and now she won't talk to me. Well, she won't arrange to meet and talk to me. She doesn't respond to phone calls, texts, e-mails, anything. This bugs the fuck out of me. We used to be very good friends, and I would like to know what I've 'done wrong.' It seems my only option is to call on her, or engineer a 'chance meeting' in the street. I have a very strong urge to do this. If I make just one attempt, does this count as stalking? Friends seem to think it doesn't, but I still feel a bit odd about it. Announcing it on the internet is a pretty crap way to start a career as an obsessive weirdo. Whatever, it's another blog entry and something to talk about with my counsellor. If you've got head problems of any kind, you really should try the university counselling service. It's bloody good and it's free.

My Response:

I think that I need to heed your advice about the free counselling Dave. However, I don't think that you should go any near this girl that you are talking about. I have had so called friends, who have suddenly dumped me like a hot brick, without any explanation and I know how hurtful it can be; but the truth is, you will one day meet someone who will be more deserving of your 'wierdness', as you call it and uni has got to be one of the best places to find someone. I have been stalked myself, on one occasion and it does not help the 'stalkie' or the stalker to move on and have a happy life. Happy hunting looking for your new Miss Right.

My Response to Kathryn's Post

Kathryn's Post:

Under Age Pregnancy

I think people who get pregnant are stupid. Yeah, okay they can't help being stupid. They only have sex because they think everyone else in their school/year group is doing it. It's goddamn stupid. Kids get this idea into their head, that they have to fit in. And most parents that have kids young, are stupid or uneducated. Okay, you have some that have a baby cause they love each other and for the right reasons. But then, sometimes, they end up resenting the child cause it stopped them from doing things that they wanted to do, stops them from having the career they wanted. People should wait till they've been to college and been to Uni or left college and gotten a good job. It's insulting more to the child to have it young, and make it go through life without things they need and thinking down of their parents.

My Response:

I couldn't agree with your thoughts more strongly. Having underage sex is stupid enough, but getting pregnant is even worse. I am not a fan of abortion and I think that in this day and age, where contraception is free and readily available there should be no need. Like you say, it a better idea to get other things done before you wreck your life by having a baby at an early age. It is something that we have all done though, underage sex, I guess it has always happened, regardless of which generation we mean.

My Response to Andy's Post

Andy's Post:

"I'll Mostly Be Doing The SLOTS."
It's difficult for me to comment on gambling, having never done it. No not even the Lottery! I suppose the only reason people do actually gamble is because they feel they have a chance of winning some money (or some other item of value). I think also one of the reasons I don't gamble myself is because I have an addictive personality. I would devour many-a-wage packet in doing so and lose the ability to function in everyday society. No, in that respect, alcohol is my forte.Probably one of the most popular forms of gambling in this country - I would say - is the Lottery (Or "Lotto" as it's now called. What's next? "Lot" or the even lazier "L"...anyway...). It's easy to see how it's has gained a stranglehold on our society: you pay a measly pound to select a few numbers, and then BAM! you're holding a giant novelty cheque for several million in front of news cameras and sipping champagne. Most people (myself included I must confess) dream of being able to "escape from it all" with all that money. But there has to be a certain point you reach where you realise you've spent more money over the months than what you were saving for that holiday to the Spanish Isles on something where the odds of winning the jackpot are something like 1 in 14,000,000.Does nobody else find this figure a little disheartening? Okay, there are smaller prizes that can be won but the odds are still against you. Check them out here. Then there are scratchcards. If lottery draws twice a week just simply isn't enough for you, you can always head into your local Spar and buy a scratchcard. Oooh and they come in all kinds of themes and designs. How fun it is to hand over your hard earned cash to a small bit of card covered in silver. Some people may argue the fact that the money they pay on Lotto often goes to worthy causes. OK I am willing to accept that. But what bothers me is that things like a new sports hall for an under-funded school does not seem such a "worthy cause" when there are families starving and people homeless and diseases that have yet to be cured. There is something rather aesthetic about these so-called "worthy causes".So, no gambling is not really for me (I know I've only spoken about one aspect of gambling but it's the one that I would say everyone can relate to). It may seem hypocritical of me to not want to spend my money on a lottery ticket but be willing to purchase obscene amounts of alcohol. But at least with booze I'm guaranteed a result!

My Response:

Love the ending and I couldn't agree more. Drink is far more of a guarantee, indeed.. I am not a great fan of gambling either, it seems to be rather a waste of valuable money, to me. It seems that the people who do it most are already poor. My boyfriend is a single parent, on the dole and he does it all the time. I did bet on the Irish lottery and I must admit, it was the first time and I won 30 quid. What did I gain, nothing.. I promptly took my fella out and wasted it all on getting blathered. What was the point? I am glad, dear Andy that you haven't got any more vices, drinking is a bad enough one, and as you know I'm very experienced in this matter.

My response to Megan's post

Megan's post:

The EEEEEEEEVILS of alcohol.
No, it's ok, I don't think it's evil either. But I had to find something to blog about! So, anyway... Does anyone out there think booze is bad? Cos I know quite a few people who really don't... And I REALLY don't...I know there are obviously lots of people out there who don't drink, and that's their choice, that's fine by me, but has anyone else been accosted by someone trying to get them to stop? I remember my friend Kate and I were in a pub once, and this random woman came up to us and started telling us how evil alcohol was... I don't think either of us knew what to do, we just kind of sat there nodding until she went away. Whether she was once an alcoholic who had given it up, and therefore didn't want to see other people ruining their lives, or whether she was some sort of crazy cat lady I guess we'll never know. If it's any comfort to anyone, we carried on drinking till we'd forgotten all about her. Don't worry, we are NOT traumatised.I don't think drink is too bad in moderation (or in copious amounts, really), it's people who wake up and have a breakfast Vodka that I could never understand. But by the same token, these people have a problem, so who am I to judge at the end of the day. If the only way these people can cope is by being constanly intoxicated, then they should probably get help of some sort. I'm pleased to say that I'm not an alcoholic (yet... ), I drink for recreation... Which I shouldn't, according to CCL (Crazy Cat Lady) but at least it's only in moderation. Most nights. But, of course, joking aside, there are problems with alcohol. The obvious ones being:
Liver damage
Other organ damage
Drink drivers
Rape, street fights etc
Drinks being spiked.
Most things can be avoided, of course, by drinking less than an entire... er... paddling pool... of alcohol, and the inevitable "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!" message plastered on every single motorway board from here to Zimbabwe, but they can't be eliminated completely. Drinks being spiked is of course what every girl fears on a night out, but drinking from bottles whilst keeping your thumb over the top (Whilst you're not drinking, obviously, otherwise you'd get very thirsty) is always sensible. But I'm not here to give you advice, I'm here to moan that drink is EVIL! (Pfft, Hypocrite...)
I... I can't do it... I can't say booze is awful.. Not when I love it so...
Over and out.
~Meg~

My Response:

I agree that there are disadvantages, but I also agree that alcohol is very enjoyable, in moderation. Not that I do it in moderation, no way Hosea, I do it much and often. I think that people should be careful with it though. I know several people who are now seriuosly ill from the effects of over use of the stuff, pancreas problems, for example and it is extremely painful for the person in question. It may seem great when you are young, but problems with over use will eventually catch up with your body, as you get older, so I'd advise caution. I don't take my own advice however, and as soon as I get home, I'm cracking open that bottle of wine, lovely..

Sheep shagging. Beastiality, somewhere in the countryside, that shall remain nameless, due to lack of funds for a court case!

Beastiality sounds like a very harsh word to me, for something which, is a great pursuit, of some nationals, who shall remain nameless. It is as old as the pursuit or 'job' of prostitution. It has become an almost 'normal' habit for some, nameless members of the community. Nothing is a more and (so they say), a more innocent and pleasurable pastime, than going 'up the hill', to visit the sheep; they are also reputed to be 'cleaner of bottom', than those that live in certain areas, lets say, Wales, for example. The person's who told me about it, even have a quite cute nickname for the practice, they call it 'tupping the ewe'.It may be said by some, lefty-type, mamby pambys, animal lovers and so on, that this is a cruel pursuit. I will now argue that it is less cruel than say, fox-hunting, badger baiting and shooting innocent pheasants. It is also a sight less dangerous than some other 'hobbies', such as hang-gliding, visiting brothels and snorting washing powder. For this reason, I would say that it is pretty much alright to partake in this peculiar hobby; but I wouldn't reccomend it in winter, the wind is known to get quite chilly up on 'the hill', (so they say) and we all know that cold can shrivell the nether regions.http://www.xxxpower.net/
